About Robin Lloyd
MSW, RSW, Life Coach
I earned
a Master’s Degree in Social Work, with distinction, from Wilfrid Laurier University
in 1998, and I am a graduate of the Institute for Life
Coach
Training (ILCT), which offers coaching programs accredited by the
International Coach Federation. My mission is to encourage and support personal
growth, acceptance and choice.
Do you want to live
a more meaningful and fulfilling life? Are you lacking purpose or balance?
Or are you in the midst of a transition and want to make sure you thoughtfully
and creatively plan your next life phase? Life Coaching could be just what
you are looking for to help you get what you want in life. It is a positive
and energizing process of learning, discovery and personal development. It
assumes you are committed to taking action now to support your future life
plans.
Dr. Pat Williams, Master Certified Coach, describes Life Coaching as:
“
a powerful,
human relationship where trained coaches assist people to design their future
rather than help them get over their past … Coaches recognize the brilliance
of each client and their personal power to discover their own solutions when
provided with support, accountability
and unconditional positive regard.”
Coaching is proven to work when two factors
are present:
1. You are willing to grow and committed to taking action now. 2.
There is a gap between where you are now and where you want to be.
Life Coaching
is a partnership. Just talking about your options with someone who knows how
to listen is often enough to have it all become very clear. You will make commitments
you really want and we will work together to help you stay focused on your vision.
I use my intuition and creativity during our sessions and you’ll always get my
honest, constructive views.

About Dr. Ilze Arielle Matiss
Ph.D., C.Psych., Registered Psychologist
I help individuals and families (children, adolescents, parents) access their own strengths and resources to create solutions that enable them to live happy, balanced lives, and be the best they can be.
Life is a journey, and we are each doing the best that we can at any given time. As we increase our awareness, we are able to make different choices in our lives and, as a result, improve the experiences for ourselves and those that we care about most. Challenges can be approached as problems that need to be eliminated and/or solved, or as opportunities for guidance, learning, growth, and the co-creation of solutions and alternate stories. I am excited to be part of a setting that offers wholistic, integrative alternatives to families, children, adolescents and adults to be the best that they can be as naturally as possible.
I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and a member of the Ontario Psychological Association. I work with children, adolescents, families, and adults. I bring 20 years of experience in the fields of school psychology, education and counseling to my practice. I earned my Ph.D. (1998) in School Psychology and my M.A. (1987) in Early Childhood Focus in Psychology from the Department of Applied Psychology at University of Toronto/OISE. I completed my B.Sc. (1986) at the University of Toronto majoring in Psychology and Women’s Studies.
I believe in being a life long learner and continually exploring new ways of working with and guiding my clients. Following the completion of my Ph.D. I participated in a 3-year Externship program in Solution-Focused and Narrative Practices through the Brief Therapy Training Institute at the Hincks-Dellcrest Centre in Toronto (1999-2002). I am also a certified EmpowermentPlus® Level III practitioner (2006). I recently completed the Awakening the Coach Within coaching training course with Ellen Goldhar (2008). I have participated in two weeklong training retreats and self-study courses with Paul Scheele and Learning Strategies Corporation (2007-2009). Trainings and workshops, personal practices, and/or interests include mindfulness meditation, guided visualization, meditation and relaxation practices, ways of working with energy, accelerated learning strategies and techniques, NLP, intuitive work, narrative and solution-focused thinking, positive psychology, and ways of exploring and supporting balance in mind-body-spirit.
I have extensive training and experience with assessment and diagnosis through my work as a school psychologist. My passion is in guiding people to re-connect with their own magnificence and resources (as learners, as teachers, as parents, as individuals, as fellow human beings...) and helping them to align their energy with what they desire to create in their lives. Rather than strengthening our commitments to "problems", we work together to shift perspectives, change energy and focus thoughts, in order to bring more buoyancy and hopefulness to life challenges.
I work with issues related to ADHD alternatives, learning, school, intellectual development, life transitions, worry, stress, parenting, and offer counseling, life coaching, consultation and networking on these topics. Taking the view that everything is energy, there are many ways to support and channel our energy in healthy ways. I find that different supports are helpful and appropriate at different times in people's lives. I explore additional supports for my clients, when needed, that are in alignment with their beliefs, needs, interests, and budgets. My private practice here at the clinic includes working in cooperation with a community of alternative health care professionals as well.
I offer a number of workshops including: "The Happiness Generator", "Living Life Abundantly", "EmpowermentPlus® and ADHD alternatives" (please see empowermentplus.org), and topics related to strategies to support learning, better understanding personality and learning styles, stress-management, parenting.
Please call 416-705-7137 or e-mail me at dr.ilze@ilzematiss.com to book a free introductory consultation (approximately 20 minutes) to help explore the appropriateness-of-fit between the services I offer and your needs. Initial consultations and regular appointments can be booked by contacting me directly or through the clinic.
What would you choose to do if you knew that you could not fail?
